This stag called to me. The inspiration was a photo I saw on pinterest. There was no photographer named, but I would love to credit them if I find them.
I think what I liked most was the playful mystery. Sometimes birds land on wildebeest or other African continent creatures, but I had never seen birds clustered around a stag's horns. Nature is comic, dignified, and fanciful all at once. It stirs something in me and makes me remember the joy of it all.
I'm not sure where this painting might find a home-perhaps a child's bedroom or a vacation home. But I hope that when it finds where it belongs, it will bring the mix of those feelings I felt as I imagined it.
